Social Initiatives
South Africa, like so many other African countries are challenged with high unemployment
and subsequently empoverished and needy communities.
To date the activities of the H.O.P.E Foundation were mostly focused on the social and
economical upliftment of previously disadvantaged individuals in the Cango Valley
(Oudtshoorn). Through the H.O.P.E Foundation the needs of the children of Voorbedacht
Primary School are attended to. Most of these children do not receive daily nutritional
meals in order to sustain healthy physical and mental development; neither do they have
proper clothing to keep them warm during the cold winter months.
The H.O.P.E Foundation has also identified itself with the needs of the learners of
Karatara Primary School in Knysna. The school has 158 learners and serves the needs of
the local farming community.
Diversifying our social involvement, we partnered with the renowned “Karos and Kambro”
performing arts initiative. Their purpose is to provide a mechanism through the strategic
development of the arts whereby disadvantaged youth are helped to become part of the
reconstruction process in South Africa.
